A small business owner stopped me at Starbucks to say that he reads my blog all the time. Which is always flattering.
He asked me a few questions about the issues he was facing in his business. Questions that seem to always come up for me.
Let me summarize my response:
We often look for more ways to gain more customers.
More channels to get into.
More events to attend.
More partners to reach.
More calls to make.
More content to create.
More ways to get attention.
Instead of aiming for better.
If you focus on getting better and creating something truly remarkable, You don’t need more of anything.
Your biggest competitor is not an outside threat.
You biggest competitor is yourself and your standard for excellence.
You owe it to yourself and everyone who works for you to always aim for better.
