The First Thing You Need to Know When Starting a Leadership Role

Drop the ego, it’s not about you.

You don’t need to know everything.
You don’t need to be polished.
You don’t need to have all the answers.

Instead of trying to trick people into pretending you know all the answers, just be upfront from the start.

Admit your weaknesses. Tell your team What you’re good at and what you’re bad at.

People don’t care what you say until they know that you care.

Be honest and vulnerable with your team and you will receive the same in return.

That’s when you can start to move forward.
