Marketing is about giving the person you want to help the right message in the right place at the right time.
First off, you must know that it’s not about you. It’s about them. Who is your ideal fan or customer? Ideal could mean “fun to work with” or “high net worth” or “ready to buy now” or “within a 5 mile radius”.
Once you know who you want to help, you then need to know more about them. The more you understand their frustrations, aspirations and fears the better you can craft an offer that will appeal to them.
Start having conversations.
Then you need to know how to reach them. Get to know what their day is like, where they discover new things, who influences their purchasing decisions, what type of media they consume at what times of day.
Now that you actually understand your ideal customer, you can use that information to start crafting a sustainable marketing strategy where you can start to communicate your value every day for years until they trust you.
