How to succeed in the longterm

A friend of mine has been delaying working out and eating right because he wants to have everything perfect before he gives it 100% of his energy. I told him to just start by doing a small bodyweight workout every day and to build on it. He said that that wasn’t how he did things and that he likes to have a goal and give it 100% for a certain amount of time.

That will probably work in the short term but I’ve seen that strategy fail in the longterm over and over again for over a decade. People get motivated for a certain amount of time, until the motivation fades and they gain all the weight back a year later.

We can’t solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

You will never have a lasting change for life until you change something you do daily. The secret to your success is found in your daily routines.
