Instead of being grateful once a year, try making it a daily routine.
One of the only routines we have as a family is every morning for breakfast my wife, daughter and I each name something we are grateful for. Something I took from a book called the 5 minute journal.
By actively starting your day with gratitude you release negative feelings of fear disappointment and anxiety, and instead instil feelings of joy, contentment, and optimism.
Rather than being annoyed that you have to stop for groceries on the way home, you may think instead about how wonderful it is that you can afford groceries and are able to cook yourself a healthy meal.
Gratitude changes your attitude.
