A friend messaged me yesterday telling me how the 5 second rule had really helped him conquer his fears so I wanted to share it with you.
You know that voice in your head when you’re about to do something new or challenging that starts to convince you not to do it? The voice that says you’re too old or you might get hurt or you’re not __(fill_in_the_blank)__ enough.
That’s the voice that closes a lot of doors towards adding excitement in your life.
Doors towards other opportunities and to a life well lived.
Often in life the obstacle is the way. The path that seems scary is the one you should take but you’re subconsciously paralyzed from taking action.
“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs
Our intuition is always right but within five seconds we subconsciously override it by choosing the safe route followed by a rationalization of our fears.
The idea is to make intuitive decisions within five seconds. No hesitation. When you’re faced with a decision that may be new or challenging – act against your fear right away. Trust your intuition and go for it.
Give it a try it.
