In 2010 I read this study that revealed what I always felt to be right. That money only makes you happy to a certain level. Once you have enough money to meet your basic needs and a little extra money doesn’t provide more hapiness.
We tend to look at someone who is rich and assume they must be happy to have the luxurious car, the large house and never ending wardrobe but that’s not the case.
Hapiness is something inside of us and not something we can chase. We think of happiness as an end goal and then get depressed when we don’t reach what we want.
Most people feel depressed because they are not what they should be. They have a false image in their heads of how things are suppose to be. They follow the path that others think they should be on instead of listening to their heart. They’ve been mislead to think that the treasure is outside themselves instead of inside. They’ve let their head become the master and their heart the slave.
Happiness is our nature. You don’t have to worry about it, you don’t need anything for it – it’s already there in your heart. You just have to quiet the mind and follow your heart.
